Lineage Piece Skill Tree Guide: Bytes, Branches & Tier IV Paths

The Currency: Bytes

The Skill Tree (NPC on Monument Isle, added in the Kokushibo update) runs on Bytes, earned by completing Simulated Sea runs — the 13-room roguelite mode. Higher Sea difficulties (Sea 1–5) pay more points, and a Bytes Shop NPC also spends the same currency on items.

The Three Lines

Your Bytes buy tiers in three categories:

  • Offensive — flat Damage tiers.
  • Defensive — flat HP tiers.
  • Efficiency — EXP tiers.

Tier IV: Where Builds Split

Each line branches once its core stat hits Tier IV:

  • Damage IV → continue to Damage V, or open Crit Dmg I and Crit Rate I for burst builds.
  • Flat HP IV → continue to Flat HP V, or branch to % HP scaling and Damage Reduction.
  • Exp IV → the economy fork: Coin I, Gem I and Luck I.

Spending Order

Damage line first (it accelerates everything), then Exp to IV for the Luck branch — luck now scales boss drop rates, which compounds across every farm on the site’s guides. HP/damage-reduce is the priority only if Extreme-boss survivability blocks you before then.

One run habit: each cleared Simulated Sea run also progresses the 10,000-point Artifact Sub-Reroll (artifact guide), so tree grinding and artifact optimization share the same loop.
